New Xbox 720 tablet controller rumors emerge

Recently there has been talk that the next Xbox will block users from using preowned games, which has largely been met with dismay by gaming fans. Many of our readers have said they would switch allegiance if the rumor was indeed true. Today we have news of new Xbox 720 tablet controller rumors that have emerged.

The controller used on the Xbox 360 is loved by many users for its design and feel but according to an article over at Gaming Everything, Xbox World has published a number of new rumors about the next Xbox. It is being claimed that the new system will have a tablet inspired controller that will feature an HD screen.

It is said to be touch enabled that will make it similar to what Nintendo is set to offer with the new Wii U later this year. But the Microsoft device will have a form factor that is closer to the newly released Sony PS Vita or the Apple iPad and a lot less bulky than the Wii U controller.

The publication is also claiming that the unit will have extra buttons and information available for when users are playing a game, and be portable for when you want to take a game with you. There are a number of other claims being made that include it will be a matt-black media hub, which will include augmented reality and directional sound.

It is being claimed that Kinect will become a four player finger tracking device as well. The controller is thought will be able to control your TV, or become a browser for internet use. The publication even speculates on what the next Xbox may cost consumers as well. They have put a price around $631/£399 the console as well as the Kinect, and touch controller.

It is also being claimed that the device will be officially announced at the E3 event in June, which goes against many other reports recently. Whatever devices that both Microsoft and Sony eventually bring to the table, you would have thought they would be totally different to what’s on offer now. Besides being more powerful they will need something that is game changing for the sector.

To persuade gamers to part with large amounts of cash in big numbers the next gen consoles will need to be pretty special, which is likely to be the case. Do you think Microsoft will bring a tablet based controller with the next Xbox?
