New Wii U games event provides 2013 Zelda hope

If you picked up a Wii U console at launch and are wondering where are the defining first-party games that are going to justify your decision to purchase, good news is on the way. Nintendo has made a swift announcement confirming that a new Nintendo Direct event will be taking place this week, tomorrow in fact to showcase some upcoming software titles that will be available on the Wii U throughout the year.

It goes without saying that the Wii U is still in need of some killer titles. Black Ops 2 and Assassin’s Creed 3 are obviously great additions, but they are not a Wii U Mario Kart, Wii U Smash Bros or even the elusive Wii U Zelda game. These are three of the main titles that fans are still hoping to hear some information on, with Zelda Wii U arguably the most anticipated game of them all.

The traditional online broadcast is going to be tailored for the EU audience, and readers will be pleased to hear that the event will be starting on Tuesday at 2PM UK time, so no need to stay up late for a Japanese time. Company president Satoru Iwata is going to be hosting the festivities and hopefully the event will finally give Wii U owners some new notable game announcements, but more importantly – solid release dates as well.

To watch the event, all you have to do is tune into this website when it hits 2PM in the UK on Tuesday. Are you optimistic that we’ll see some massive games announced like Zelda, Metroid and Mario, or do you think Nintendo will save their big guns until E3 in June? Give us your expectations of the event tomorrow.
