New Surface 2 tablet accessories

Having looked at the new Surface 2 and Pro 2 yesterday, along with several hands-on reviews of the Surface Pro 2 earlier today, we thought it was now time to look at some of the accessories to go with the RT successor.

Most of the new Surface 2 tablet accessories are compatible with the Pro 2 as well and as such makes the Surface range more flexible and helps to make them even more productive, something that Microsoft wanted when designing the new products.

There are 7 new accessories in all, with many of them being able to be used with the original Surface devices. The Touch Cover 2 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor and for the first time a backlit keyboard. This will retail at $119 and is available to pre-order from today.

The Type Cover 2 is also very thin and looks very similar to the original model. However, this is also backlit and comes in a range of colors. The Type Cover 2 price is $129,99 and can be pre-ordered now.

If you feel as though you need some extra power then the Power Cover will give you around 50 percent more battery life, which helps to improve your productivity. The Power Cover price will be $199.99 when released in early 2014.

Using Bluetooth technology the Wireless Adapter for Typing Covers allows you to type anywhere in the room, and although this does seem like one of those accessories you can live without, it is already up for pre-order at a price of $59.99.

For those of you who know you will be travelling in the car a lot, then the Car Charger with USB will come in handy. Not only can this plug into power or lighter ports, but also allow you to charge other devices thanks to the built-in USB port. The price for this will be $49.99 when released early next year.

Finally, we have the Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition because there are times when a mouse is needed because it has greater benefits over simply touching a screen. This device can be pre-ordered now for $69.99. Visit Microsoft for details on all of these or watch the video below.
