Sprint customers may have been feeling a little starved lately in their search for a new smartphone. The good news however, is that a new rumored handset may interest you, nicknamed the Flash from Chinese manufacturers ZTE.
ZTE has emerged from the China clone dogfight to emerge as one of the most promising smartphone makers and a real contender to some of the main Android big boys such as Samsung, HTC and Motorola.
Little details on their latest effort, the ZTE Flash are known, but thanks to a leaked poster obtained and posted by Talk Android, we now know that the device is headed to the Sprint network. It is going to be another 4G LTE capable handset as well and boasts an impressive looking 4.5-inch HD IPS display screen with Gorilla Glass materials for extra protection.
Other hardware specifications include a 1.5Ghz dual-core processor which hasn’t been specified yet, NFC support, 1GB of RAM and a whopping 12.6MP rear camera with LED flash. That should immediately interest the smartphone photography enthusiasts out there, while a 1MP front camera rounds out the package nicely.
There’s no Jelly Bean at launch unsurprisingly, but the Flash will be a Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device out of the box. The poster even has a release date scheduled for October 14, so there’s plenty of time to build up interest in this if you want to give newcomers ZTE a chance.
Hopefully Sprint will announce this officially and we can take a much closer look at this device before it’s out. We’d also like Sprint to pen some kind of deal with Sam Jones as that really would be the icing on the cake. Don’t know who he is? – Watch Ted when you can.
