Whenever people think about a new iPhone there are a few things that come to mind; the first is a speed advantage, second is a new design, but one subject that always comes up is the camera. Apple have been making advances with its camera technology, and it would seem a future model is to make use of some cutting edge technology, although do not expect this to appear on the iPhone 7.
A recent report suggests that Apple has been looking into a patent for a spherical photosensor, along with a lens array, which if successful will mean a future iPhone will be able to make use of a high-resolution capture.
Seeing as though Apple is still waiting for the patent to be approved, and that this is cutting edge technology, we presume it will either be implemented for the iPhone 7s, although most probably the iPhone 8.
What’s so special about this new camera tech? The proposed photosensor is spherically curved, allowing it to receive more light, which is refracted through crafted lenses. A thorougher look into the technology can be found on “>AppleInsider.
Even though we are still around 8 months from the launch of the iPhone 7, it seems it is not too soon for the concept models to start appearing, which you can see in the video below.
Features of interest include a bezel-free OLED display, an integrated home button, and Touch ID fingerprint recognition. All of these will make full use of the new iOS 10 features as well.
