New Sony SmartWear duo at CES 2015, prices missing

Sony had a good 2014 in the wearables market and so the company has already hit the ground running with two new SmartWear devices. We say new, these are really special edition versions of existing models, the SmartWatch 3 and SmartBand.

The newest edition to the SmartWatch 3 was highlighted at CES 2015 yesterday and this latest model is made from stainless steel, giving it a more premium look and feel. This contemporary design looks far more like a traditional watch, which Sony hopes will appeal to watch wearers.

Some of the new specs for the stainless steel edition are a 1.6-inch TFT LCD display with a resolution of 320×320 and Transflective technology to help reduce glare from the sunlight. There is also a new holder to keep your Sony smartwatch safe when it is not on your wrist.

Sony also announced a new version of the SmartBand SWR10. This limited edition version has been designed for women that love the brand ROXY. Unlike the original version, this model comes in blue and has a curvy shape to make it stand out against some of the other boring fitness devices that people wear on their wrists.

We do not have a specific release date for these new SmartWear devices or what their prices will be, but we do know the ROXY version will come later this month, and the new SmartWatch 3 will follow in the coming months. More details can be found on the Sony Mobile Blog.
