New PS4, Xbox One games showdown at E3 2015

We are counting down to E3 2015, the annual event in which Sony and Microsoft will attempt to wow the watching audience and viewers across the globe with new game announcements that both companies hope, will allow them to gain a foothold in the ongoing next-gen sales battle.

We are certain to see some new IPs from both companies, but so far it looks like all of the pre-E3 2015 leaks and secrets have not crept out to the public yet – which is a great thing.

We love surprises and there’s nothing quite like hearing a brand new game IP, or a sequel to a high profile game that hasn’t already been leaked prior to the event.

The big question is what will Sony and Microsoft most likely be showing at their individual press conferences? Microsoft this week teased that their lineup will be the ‘greatest games lineup in Xbox history’, so for a start that already tells us that they are very confident with what they have to show.

After the infamous DRM affair and internet check-in gate at E3, Microsoft will be hoping that they have an E3 which fans will remember and one that can beat what Sony will offer – remember Microsoft will have their press conference first in the morning on Monday June 15, followed by Sony who takes the evening slot as usual.

Sony meanwhile are boasting that their whole E3 2015 experience can be enjoyed in theatres across US and Canada, with the company giving away tickets for free and with the addition of extended E3 broadcasts for those that make it to the cinema.

Some of the games likely to headline the event for both companies include Uncharted 4, Batman Arkham Knight, Star Wars Battlefront, DOOM, Halo 5 Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Quantum Break, Black Ops 3 and maybe even Forza 6 too.

Those are just some of the games off the top of our heads. There will obviously be some new IPs announced and some surprise sequels too – Crackdown 3 on Xbox One anyone?

If you are excited for the event, let us know your expectations from both Sony and Microsoft. Who do you think will be the big winner and what games are you personally hoping to see?
