New PS Vita applications arrive with more to follow

With the arrival of the PS4 we were expecting this next-gen console to be at the forefront of everything, but it seems Sony is actively supporting existing systems including the PS Vita. This is great news for owners of the handheld as more apps emerge today and more are expected this spring.

The firm recently announced the arrival of new apps at the North American store which include the likes of Crunchyroll. This app allows users to catch up on some of the best Anime from Japan, including Attack on Titan, Hunter X Hunter, Naruto Shippuden and Kill la Kill.

NHL GameCenter LIVE is another ideal app for hockey fans as this instantly streams live out-of-market games in HD quality with the GameCenter LIVE subscription, while Qello is just the ticket for music lovers as this contains streams of the largest collection of HD concerts, along with music documentaries direct to your device with everything from Linkin Park and Nirvana to Beyonce and Bob Marley.

In addition, other upcoming apps set for a spring release include Gaiam TV for fitness and yoga classes, as well as Hulu Plus with unlimited instant streaming of hit shows like The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy and Modern Family to name a few, for $7.99 a month from 25th March.

Redbox Instant by Verizon is also expected on the 25th March and will provide new subscribers a free month of movies. Not to mention other arrivals including Facebook, NBA Game Time, Netflix, YouTube, Crackle, Flickr, Skype, and TuneIn Radio.

Full details of what is on offer can be seen on the official PlayStation Blog, so we suggest PS Vita owners keep updated by visiting this site on occasion to see what else is new with the Vita. Generally, the apps on offer have been welcomed by many owners of the handheld, but what other Vita apps would you like to see in the future?
