New MacBook Pro inspired by iPad with 2016 update?

It’s going to be an interesting time next month for Apple fans, because while we pretty much know that we will see the launch of the iPhone 7, we are sure to see other products from their lineup revealed as well – we just don’t know which ones. Having said that, there is hope that it will be the new MacBook Pro, as it’s in need of an update for 2016.

What to expect from the new MacBook Pro? We have already discussed many of the features that we would like to see, and also rumours about other possible changes, such as the OLED touch-panel. A new rumour has also elaborated on this that that touch-panel will also feature a Touch ID power button – but as ever we have to take such news with a pinch of salt.

New MacBook Pro inspired by iPad

Another rumour has surfaced once again, although we really cannot see Apple introducing it. Yes we are talking about the next MacBook Pro upgrade being inspired by the iPad – yes we are talking about a MacBook Pro with touchscreen.

The thing is, with so many devices being released and with many of them converging in terms of their use, is it finally time for Apple to bring the touchscreen to their top of the range laptop?

Ok, so we know that Apple has never been in favour of this, but then again look at the backtrack they did when launching the iPad. We also know that while the iPad Pro is not truly a 2-in-1 device, even if it does have a keyboard option, it does serve a purpose. Having said that, the iPad Pro still has a along way to go in order to compete with the Surface Pro, and so wonder if a touchscreen MacBook Pro is the answer?

We have already seen many polls in the past about such a feature, and it seems there is a clear divide, as the percentage of those that would love it, to those that are not interested is right down the middle, and so we have to say the jury is still out on this one.

Is the time finally right for Apple to reveal a touchscreen MacBook Pro?
