New MacBook Air: 2012 brings 512GB SSD

While I’m typing away on this MacBook Air it seems my computer is worried for its life considering there has been a new MacBook Air announced at WWDC 2012, which will include some amazing features to show why the Air will stay number one in this laptop segment.

You can expect some amazing upgrades with the new MacBook Air and these include a new 512GB SSD with a 500MB read speed that is around x2 faster than the current SSD. The Air will also get 60% faster graphics, Ivy Bridge processors, up to 8GB of memory (amazing), and up to 2GHz dual-core i7. USB 3.0 has also been confirmed at WWDC and that will be on both USB ports, which means you wont need to worry what port to plug into.

You’ll also find a 720p FaceTime HD camera, 1366×768 resolution on the 11-inch model and 1440×900 on the 13-inch, and pricing ranges from $999 to $1,099 for 11-inch and again the 13-inch is $100 cheaper than current model, depending on the chip you choose. The new 2012 MacBook Air will ship from today, so keep an eye on the Apple Store.
