New loudspeaker modeling app for Apple iPad

A loudspeaker modeling app has just been released for owners of the iPad. SpeakerDraft 1.1 makes simple speaker design visually fun and easy.

Developed by Faber Acoustical, LLC, the app is great for anyone trying to design a box for a home theater subwoofer or a car, by modeling the bass response of the design. The application supports ported and sealed loudspeaker design, with the depth, height, and width of the box fully adjustable.

The iPads large screen is taken advantage of to plot the speaker’s bass response, this updates in real time as the virtual slider controls are dragged for the speaker physical dimensions. Port length and diameter can also be accommodated for ported box designs. A driver database is also included in the app.

SpeakerDraft 1.1 is on the App Store for $19.99. iPad required.
