The new Jeep Renegade is to follow the path set by the Grand Cherokee, and that is to change its tyres to Kumho. This was also the case with the Fiat Freemont, and so there has to be an obvious reason why this switch has been made?
Improved Jeep Renegade handling — The Kumho tyre switch is said to bring many advantages, such as increased comfort at speed with less road noise, and the most important being better handling characteristics in wet and dry driving conditions.
There are two different new Jeep Renegade Kumho Crugen Premium KL33 tyre sizes, and these are the 215/60R17 100V XL and 225/55R18 98H. They have been developed specially for the Renegade, meaning that when it comes to replacing them, you need to fit those tyres above to get the best from the vehicle.
The Crugen Premium KL33 is already an existing range, but a few changes to the characteristics of the tyre have been changed in order to work specifically with the new Jeep Renegade.
Such deals with tyre makers are nothing new, as Mercedes seem to favor continental, although with this being a bit of a soft compound, the tires do wear down rather quickly.
