New iPod Touch Prototypes With Camera:Found On Ebay?

Almost a week ago we reported about the find of the iPhone 4G prototype device in a bar. Now another apparent Apple leak has surfaced with what looks like two iPod Touch prototypes appearing on eBay, with what looks like a camera.

Pictures of the devices have the prototype identification codes “DVT-1” and “DVT-2 on the back, this is supposed to stand for “design verification test” in Apple language. The DVT-2 also has an extra bar code label that says “Apple Development Team”.

Another interesting thing about the possible prototypes is the model number at the bottom matches the current iPod Touch, so was the camera function ditched just before the launch of the last version? The eBay listing was unsurprisingly pulled. For more information and pictures on this story please head over to the 9to5mac.com website.

Do you think these are fake? Or is this just a bit of clever marketing by Apple? Post your comments below and tell us what you think.
