New iPhone App: My Smart Hands Baby Sign Language Dictionary

A clever new app which can teach young children in American Sign Language has been released for owners of the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. My Smart Hands Baby Sign Language Dictionary 1.0 contains detailed instruction of more than 300 signs.

Developed by My Smart Hands, the app includes video, quizzes, and search features. The quizzes let parents track their Childs progress so they can tackle any problem words. The app was designed by – Laura Berg – who has a BA in Child Studies, an M.Ed and certificate in ASL and Deaf Studies.

“We get a lot of emails requesting advice on signing with babies. I get hundreds every month asking what the sign is for a particular word,” says Laura Berg. “We wanted parents to have signs at the tips of their fingers.” Hence, the app was born. The app has over 45 minutes of instructional video and categories make word finding easier.

My Smart Hands Baby Sign Language Dictionary 1.0 is on the App Store for only $4.99. Requires iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad with OS 3.1.3 or later. Click here to see a YouTube video of the app in action.
