New iPhone 5C features signaled by board

With the Apple invites already sent out for Tuesdays iPhone event, which is expected to see the iPhone 5S and 5C unveiled, it comes as no surprise that there have been several leaks in regard to these devices. We have already offered details on a possible iPhone 5C price and also a new case revealing some specs and what could be the iPhone 5S box revealing the fingerprint scanner on the home button.

The latest iPhone 5C leak looks at a minor change to the logic board from this cheaper Apple smartphone compared to the current iPhone 5, and although the changes are not much, they are subtle enough to make a difference.

Apple Insider explains these changes in greater detail, but as yet is unable to determine the iPhone 5C processor, although Apple is expected to use one of their current chips to keep costs down, just as they did with the iPad mini.

It is clear to see Apple has used several components from the iPhone 5, which is yet another way to help keeps costs down because the tooling is already in place. With this in mind it starts to make even more sense that Apple will discontinue the iPhone 5 to make way for the iPhone 5C.

The marketing department for Apple need to be very clever when it comes to advertising the iPhone 5C because it is rather clear it is nothing more than a re-packaged iPhone 5, if we are to believe this latest leak.

Will you purchase an iPhone 5C for a cheaper price, even if it means using year-old technology?

Before you look at this in a negative way and suggest that the iPhone 5C will not sell that well because of the use of older technology, you only have to look at the iPhone 4 with its old tech and still shifts in huge numbers.
