New iPhone 5 and Apple’s secret live video stream

You don’t see this happen all the time, but in a surprising twist of events, it seems as if Apple are providing a live video stream of their ‘Let’s talk iPhone’ press conference after all. However, it will be private and kept locked away from the public eye.

Yeah, we’re as disappointed as you are, especially when we heard that ‘select’ journalists have apparently been invited by Apple to watch the whole event in various Apple stores scattered across the shores.

One such store that is providing this service is the Apple store in London’s Convent Garden, as a report over at 9to5Mac is claiming that Apple are providing the London store with a live video feed via satellite, and not IP which could obviously be prone to attack if some Apple fanatics become angry.

We first informed you about hints about this private Covent Garden event in our previous report here last month, but as you can see from the picture below, it looks like this has some real substance to it and Apple are indeed showing this behind close doors only.

The report also states that the London Apple Store may already have some secret iPhone 5 demo units at hand to use during the event, so it really is exciting stuff – well, for them we’re guessing. Meanwhile, the rest of the world has to make do with a live blog although its better than nothing at all.

If this bit of information turns out to be true, we dare say that Apple may come in for a bit of criticism for shutting the public out of what could be their greatest smartphone unveil yet. We have just hours to go before the event kicks off in Cupertino, we listed some expectations for the event in an earlier article here in case you haven’t seen that yet.

Based on the picture you can see above courtesy of TNW, it looks like that Covent Garden Apple Store is the place to be. I wonder if they’ll let passers by peek through the windows, or if they’ll keep their filthy private stream to themselves! Let us know what you think of this, we’ll update this if we find out more. Have you heard any information about private Apple streams in select stores?
