New iPhone 4S at AT&T, only one per customer

Earlier today we had an article looking at choices of carrier when it comes to purchasing the iPhone 4S, and the various times consumers can begin the preordering process in the US and across the pond in the UK. Now we have some news that for some people may help in deciding what carrier to choose, as the new iPhone 4S at AT&T is only one per customer.

An article over at SlashGear is reporting that sales of the new iPhone at AT&T stores are to be limited to one per person. This allegedly concerns both normal sales and current customers of the carrier taking upgrades. A document that is supposed to be an AT&T training document has leaked, and the carrier has made it clear one handset per customer.

This doesn’t matter whether it’s a customer joining AT&T for the first time, upgrading, or buying without a contract. To most people this won’t matter as they will only want one handset, but for those who may be getting one for themselves and another for a partner or a member of the family it may be disappointing.

The new iPhone begins at $199.99 for new customers and upgrades for the 16GB version, and early upgrades for the same device costing $449.99 or contract free it is $649.99. if you want to get the 32GB version it will cost you an extra $100 for whatever purchase option you choose, and a further $100 on top of that for the 64GB version.

While there were some consumers disappointed with the iPhone 4S it will still sell really well, but there may be some who wait for the reported iPhone 5 that is still thought to be coming next year with LTE technology.
