New iPhone 4G: Would AT&T customers move to Verizon?

We have an interesting article for you to read now, in which a new study has revealed that customers on AT&T are not entirely happy with the call quality on their network and in turn, not satisfied with the current level of service they are getting.

As reported from Apple Insider, a new study by ChangeWave revealed that 4.5 percent of calls by AT&T customers were dropped in the last three months – the worst out of the four major carriers in the U.S.

This is not good reading for AT&T given the fact that they will be trying to persuade customers to move into new contracts for the upcoming iPhone 4G. The same survey also revealed that Verizon, who are rumored to support the iPhone in the future, only suffered from a 1.5 percentage of dropped calls – meaning that AT&T were three times worst than AT&T.

Further results from the study concluded that only 23 percent of surveyed AT&T customers said they are “very satisfied” with AT&T’s service, while Verizon’s figure stood at 49 percent – more than double than AT&T.

Are you an AT&T customer? If so, how do you feel about the results? Would you consider moving to Verizon if they secured the iPhone too? Give us your thoughts on this.

I live just outside a major city (Minneapolis). I have many friends that live in side the city. Both of us experience dropped calls on a weekly basis. I have had service with Sprint and T-Mobile in the past and neither of them have had as bad a service as AT&T has, Sure much of this can be the growth that the iPhone rings to the network but if they can’t handle the growth then they shouldn’t be selling the service. I’m sure Verizon would have some issues if they got the iPhone because the user-base would increase dramatically however… Read more »

Yes, AT&T sucks, but I will stick with them. The way I see it, everyone will flock to Verizon when they get he Iphone. Then the load on AT&T's network will drop significantly making for a better experience. Hopefully Verizon paid attention and won't have the same problems as AT&T does.

I am watching all the dist AT&T customers planning to move to Verizon after the 4g release and I say "good". Open that bandwidth. Less is good, for me and my needs. AT&T wasn't prepared for the amount of customers utilizing iPhones when it was released. Think of that before you sign your Verizon contract.

I have both a personal blackberry (at&t) and a company blackberry (verizon). In my area of work and life (south alabama) I have 5 bars of at&t and 1 bar of verizon signal strength. I am personally very happy with at&t. Probably 25% of my coworkers are dissatisfied with verizon.

I have the iPhone, I'm on AT&T, I work for AT&T, and would gladly switch to Verizon if they were to get the iPhone.

Here's a different answer for your question. I want an iPhone and am currently a Verizon customer. If Verizon does not get the iPhone before my contract runs out in June I will move to AT&T in July.

you know what would be even better, if it comes to sprint but it won't happen because it would benefit the customer too much.

Keep in mind that ChangeWave study was not a statistically valid study…the draw results from their members rather than conducting a scientific (read unbiased) poll. It’s no more accurate than me asking all my friends…which is better AT&T or Verizon.
