When you look at Apple’s track record for launching iPhones, you would be sure to see an Apple event in June this year, and then a new iPhone 4G / 2010 phone. This is not the view of one site that claims it’s coming in “April at the earliest”.
Found via the well known UK Mirror site, and sourced from Korea Times. The specs quoted are nothing we have not heard before — improved camera, OLED screen, and live video chat — but a new iPhone release date in April 2010, this is completely new.
Korea Times say that the rumor has come from a “high-ranking KT executive” and continued by saying 4G iPhone legal issues had been cleared, so it’s possible to release a 4G iPhone “within the first half” of 2010.
The site explains that the reason for a sooner release would be due to “Google’s rush” towards higher speed cell phones that also include an open-based Android OS. This makes sense, but would go against the track record built since the first generation iPhone was released.
