New iPad 2 Announcement: Live – Full Specs and Features

We all knew it was coming, so there were no shocks with the new iPad 2 announcement. We can now tell you that Apple has made the full specs and features live. Having already covered a few of the basic specifications, along with the price, we thought we would offer you more details on the technical features.

First of all let us go over some of the basics, we already know that it will come with a dual-core A5 processor, which we will discuss in greater detail in a later post. Storage stays the same, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB, so no 128GB storage as was expected. As always, Apple has yet to offer details on how much RAM they have packed inside, but our guess is 512MB — although 1GB would be a nice touch to compete with what the BlackBerry PlayBook has.

The new iPad 2 will be even better for gamers, as the graphics is said to be nine times faster than before — looks like Apple wants to show tablet rivals whose boss. Gameplay will not only be more realistic, but also faster as well.

One of the most amazing things has to be how Apple was able to still keep the 10-hour battery life, even with the faster graphics and processor. This must mean that the A5 processor is more forgiving the battery.

All those rumors of two cameras were right, however, Apple has yet to offer the technical details. So we assume that they will be the same as the iPhone 4. The dimensions are as follows, height: 241.2 mm, width: 185.7 mm) and depth 8.8 mm. The Wi-Fi version weighs 601 g, the AT&T Wi-Fi and 3G weighs 613 g and the Verizon model comes in at 607 g).

As you can see, this is not only a more powerful iPad it is also much slimmer. For all of the official specs visit Apple.

Does the iPad 2 specs meet your expectations?
