New Galaxy S4 model more like Xperia Z rumored

It seems strange that people have yet to get their hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 because they have yet to ship, and there is already talk of a new Galaxy S4 model. If we are to believe what we are hearing, then this updated version could take a few features from the Sony Xperia Z.

One thing that Samsung has been accused of in the past is not building a handset that has a decent build quality, but we would have to disagree with that, as in many cases the S3 could withstand more than the iPhone 5 could. However, one area that does need addressing is its ruggedness, as the new Galaxy flagship smartphone does not offer waterproof or dust resistance.

All this could change if we are to believe a recent report, as Young Soo Kim, President of Samsung Gulf, had reportedly mentioned that a rugged Galaxy S4 was in the works, and could be released in a few weeks. It’s hard to say if Kim had gotten things a little mixed up and was just referring to the standard model that will start shipping in several days.

We cannot see such a thing happening, as they would not launch two versions so close to each other, and if they were then how come they have not made a huge deal out of it, as a waterproof and weatherproof Galaxy S4 would go up against the Xpeira Z, which we know has both these features.

There was no rugged Galaxy S3, so why should the S4 be any different, unless Samsung has seen an opportunity to corner yet another market? Do you think we will see another S4 model shortly, or do you think this is one big mix up?
