New Ford Bronco and Ranger production, not 2016 or 2017

There have been rumors doing the rounds for a few years now in regard to a new Ford Bronco and Ranger being released, and while they seemed that viable before, things may have changed. The C-Max and Focus are both currently built at the Michigan Assembly Plant, but will be shifted to Mexico in 2018, which means there will be an opening left for the addition of two new/returning models to enter production after that time.

Don’t expect the Ford Bronco and Ranger production to begin in 2016 or 2017, as rumored because this is pretty much impossible seeing as though those other Ford models will still be in production at the US plant.

The UAW is already in talks about what is going to happen after that because if nothing goes into production at Michigan Assembly Plant, this will mean by the end of this decade only the Mustang and Lincoln Continental will be manufactured in the United States — which would be a huge blow to the American car industry.

New Ford Ranger production

It’s for this reason why we tend to believe some of the rumors that a new Ford Ranger and Bronco could finally happen, and we do know these are very much wanted — although they need to be different than the early concept renders we have seen.

Possible production dates. The Ford Ranger would be expected to enter production in 2020, with the Bronco following shortly after. This would give the Michigan Assembly Plant two years in order to make the retooling changes needed to produce these very different Ford models.

How do you feel about this, is it good news that we could see the return of these iconic vehicles, and if so what would you like to see in terms of its design?
