New DROID, Moto X tablet more Nexus rival than iPad 5

Towards the end of last year there had been rumors that Motorola were working on a new tablet to go with their as then named X Phone, but the Moto X has already been released with no sign of its tablet sibling. However, we are starting to hear those same rumors again, we just have to wonder if we can believe them this time?

Having said that, there does seem to be more certainty this time because Verizon has released a commercial that shows what looks like a Motorola Droid tablet, which would be exclusive to Big Red. If true then this will be the first tablet from Motorola since the Xoom, which as you may know did not have a very great time on the market.

This might not be the only tablet from Motorola, as the company has already acknowledged they are working on a Moto X tablet, and it would be made to order. Not much is known about this new device because it is still in its early stage, but we are sure it will help complement the smartphone with the same name.

This could be the next Motorola tablet.
This could be the next Motorola tablet.

If there is to be a Motorola DROID and Moto X tablet, then we feel it will be more of a rival to the Nexus 7 and Nexus 10 rather than the upcoming iPad 5.

It is obvious that Motorola will be looking to take on other Android tablets rather than worrying about a tablet on a different platform. However, we have to wonder what they will have to offer because they will need to be something special, just as we expect the new 2013 Nexus 10 will be?
