New characters for Tekken Tag Tournament 2

If Tekken Tag Tournament 2 is on your wishlist this September, you’ll be pleased to hear that Namco has just announced four new characters to the ever growing roster. Fans who have played older Tekken games in the franchise will be delighted to know that the likes of Alex and Tiger will be playable in the new game.

Alex, a kick boxer with wrestling skills was first introduced in Tekken 2 alongside Roger. He is considered to be a fan favorite among Tekken veterans and his inclusion in Tekken Tag 2 will mark his first appearance since we last saw him in the first Tekken Tag Tournament game. As expected, you’ll be able to perform all sorts of crazy tag moves when pairing up with Roger.

Also coming is Tiger Jackson, Forest Law and P.Jack. All three are again very popular, especially Tiger who has only been seen in Tekken 3 and Tekken Tag. The good news is that all four characters are included on the normal roster, so they are not tied down to any sort of DLC purchases.

All we need now is a unveil for Gon, a return for Tekken Force mode and we’re sorted. For the first time in a while, we’re genuinely excited about an upcoming Tekken Tag 2 game. I’ve already had a few rounds of the arcade version, but nothing beats picking up the console version, learning all of the combinations and then taking on some locals in the arcade.

Do you agree with us that Tekken Tag 2 is looking highly promising? After the disappointment of Street Fighter X Tekken, let’s hope that Namco Bandai’s effort delivers.
