The story of BBM for Android is a puzzling one because it had been a long time in development and when it was released, shortly after it was removed from the Google Play Store. You don’t need to read articles on the Internet about the anger and disappointment Android users are experiencing because this was to be expected, but there is light at the end of the tunnel once again.
We have now learned the new BBM for Android beta is released, but only to a select few chosen to be part of this testing program. Okay, so we know this is not the news you have been waiting for, but it is a good sign the final BBM for Android release date is getting closer.
CrackBerry has been receiving information that in the new BBM on Android beta a few changes have been made, such as a new welcome screen showing app notifications, and that stubborn notification on the status bar that will now be able to be disabled.
Other changes include a more polished UI and several big fixes. We just hope the new BBM for Android download will be permanent this time, and not be taken down because if that happens this could be an even bigger issue for BlackBerry.
There is still no final BBM for Android release date in sight just yet, but at least this is a good sign, as long as this beta testing is not going to be a long drawn out process.
It does seem as though BlackBerry rushed the first release, although they might have done this out of pressure from those waiting for cross-platform BBM? We know it is frustrating having to wait so long, but surely it is better to have something working correctly rather than rushing it out for the sake of it?
