We don’t need to tell you that the Sony mirrrorless a series cameras are very capable at doing what they are built to do, although they do have one major drawback, and that is a serious lack of lens options.
However, ZEISS has started to rectify this by releasing new Batis lenses for these full-frame Alpha cameras. There are two new lenses available and feature an OLED display, which does help add a lot more to these cameras.
We know there are more in the pipeline, but the first two lenses are the 25mm f/2.0 and 85mm f/1.8. The former is a wide angle and the latter portrait, and while this will not appeal to causal photographers, more serious photographers will be very interested in the new line.
The price could be the sticking point for those that only use their a series for fun, as they cost $1,299 for the 25mm model and $1,199 for the 85mm. As for availability, these will go on sale in July.
Full details of these new lenses can be found on SonyAlpha Rumors, as well as the video below.
