New Apple Cinema Display 2010: 27-inch price

The 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display was starting to feel its age, so came as no shock when we learned that there is to be a new member to the family — the 27-inch display. This new model offers a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and an aspect ration of 16:9, and all for just $999.

There are those of you out there who still thinks that this is a huge amount to pay for a display, but Paul Miller from Engadget points out that Dell sells their U2711 for $100 more. What would you rather, a Dell or Apple? Not sure I even need to ask that question.

Apple tries to sweeten the deal a little more by including the built-in iSight camera, and USB powered hub with three ports. If you do not have a desktop and work from your MacBook Pro, then the new 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display has to be the perfect companion.

Now you have a huge choice to make, do you wait until September when this display will be ready to ship, or do you spend more than double the price on the new Apple iMac range?
