Not much is known about the new 2015 Audi TT due for release in late 2014, although yesterday more details came to light on the third-generation model. While the first generation was considered to be a hairdresser’s car, the second-gen model helped to remove some of that stigma, but not fully. So how will the third-gen do?
According to a recent report from Car and Driver we now have a few details on the 2015 Audi TT specs, and no doubt some of you will be saying it’s not the big leap they had hoped, although we have to refer that judgment until we see the 2015 Audi TT exterior shots, when that will be is anyone’s guess.
Will the new Audi TT specs impress? Firstly, the engine of choice will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo charged unit, which will produce 220 horsepower. We know some of you will say this engine is not big enough for a German car like this, especially when some US cars were getting 260hp from its 2.0T engine several years ago. However, it’s more than just power, put one of those US sports coupes up against an Audi TT or other such German coupe and see what comes out on top.
Having said that, the new Audi TTS version will be getting an increase from 265 to 300 horsepower. If it’s more power that you’re wanting, then the 2015 Audi TT RS will go from 360 to 380 horsepower from its new 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine.
The 2015 Audi TT exterior shots will be a long way off yet, but we are getting hints about the new models interior, and it seems that Audi could be doing what Apple is expected to do with their iOS 7, and that’s to go with a simplified look.
