New 2011 iPhone 5, will it arrive this month?

On June 6 Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference will kick off, so far it seems certain that Apple rill reveal Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 5.0, however many seem to believe that there will be no fifth-generation iPhone announcement.

We wonder whether Apple is trying to throw us of the scent and may in fact shock the world by revealing a new smartphone during the event, let’s face it since the first iPhone was released in the summer of 2007 we have seen a new iPhone arrive in the summer months of every year since, could this year be an exception?

Rumors have been suggesting that the iPhone 5 (or whatever they decide to call the next-gen iPhone) will perhaps not arrive until September, however Apple are famous for surrounding their releases in mystery, so don’t be shocked if a shiny-new iPhone gets announced next week.

We believe that it is in Apple’s interest to release their next-gen smartphone as soon as possible, last year’s iPhone 4 disappointed many with its reception issues and since then we have seen a barrage of high-end Android smartphones outperform Apple’s top-end offering, can Apple really afford to skip a summer 2011 release?

Below we have set up a simple poll to get some feedback on the matter, feel free to choose an answer and explain it in the comments section.
