Later today will mark the 14th anniversary since that fateful day on September 11, 2001 when the United States was hit by a series of terror attacks, the worst of which were on the two World Trade Centers. Many of us can remember where we were on that exact time and day, and for this reason millions of us will never forget 9/11.
We suspect that we will see a huge number of WhatsApp quotes appear later today, along with people changing their Facebook status as well. We have already seen on Facebook, and there is one campaign asking that none of us update our FB status between the time the first and second plane hit — although doubt that will happen, as people will want to mark their respect.
Many of you might start to share some of the messages that we heard on that day on September 11, 2001 from a series of broadcasts, such as from one of the captain’s on one of the planes that were hijacked, as we can still remember them and they are very stirring, and no doubt will be very emotional for some people to read today.
We have already been informed of several SMS, FB and WHatsApp status updates, all of which consist of 11 Sept 2015 quotes, and we have to say — some of them are very moving and really makes you think back to fourteen years ago.
Some of the quotes that get to us the most are, “We need to embrace pain and burn it as fuel for the journey that we call life“, along with, “I cannot think of no other symbol that is more stirring of man’s humanity to man than that of a fire engine.” We just cannot agree more.
However, one of the most fearful and moving quotes that could be used on WhatsApp or Facebook today is “Sadness will fly away on the wings of time.”
As a way to mark their respect, millions of people have visited the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, as have we, and will no doubt hold a special service today. If you would like to learn more about this very special place, then you can do so by downloading the app for Android and iOS.
What will your Facebook and WhatsApp status be today for remembering Sept 11, 2001?
