Netflix for Linux right now

Remember the days when you had to use Wine in order to get Netflix to work on Linux, well now those days are behind you, although it still isn’t as easy as it could be, and may give some of you a headache to get things working right. The basic ingredient to get Netflix for Linux right now is Chrome and HTML5, as well as a user agent tweak.

If you have never used Chrome before, but wish to get Netflix on Linux, then you had best get used to it, but please make certain you have the most up-to-date version, as this gives it a better chance of playing nice with the other software.

The other thing you need to get the job done is NSS 3.16.2 or greater, which is a Network Security Services package that is used by browsers like Chrome and Firefox. There is currently no support for Netflix using Linux-based browsers, but no doubt in time this will change.

We could try to go into detail about how you can get Netflix on Linux now, but most of it would be lost in translation over what PCWorld has explained on its detailed article. It is for this reason why we have also included a video to watch Netflix natively on Linux.

Once you have gone through the process, all we ask is that you let us know if you had success, or if you ran into any problems.
