NASA’s Shuttle Discovery Landing and iScanner iPhone App

A great app that allows users listen to over 4,700 feeds from fire and police departments has just been re-released. iScanner 1.1 turns an iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad into an EMS scanner.

Developed by Fusion Mobile Solutions Inc, the application can even allow users to listen in on the NASA space shuttle, just in time for the return of the Discovery shuttle on April 19th. Air traffic control, emergency medical response teams, and severe weather reports can also be accessed.

Users will be able to listen to the landing from anywhere in the US, with chatter direct from the landing giving the users a firsthand experience. The app will be made available free for one day on April 18th for educators to tap into the shuttle landing. iScanner has been updated with an improved user interface, and an increase in the number of feeds.

iScanner 1.1 is on the App Store for only $0.99. iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch required with OS 2.2.1 or later.
