Nabi DreamTab 8-inch with Intel chip faster than Tegra 4

For those that are looking to get a new kids tablet for Cyber Monday 2014, you may want to consider the Nabi Dreamtab 8-inch Intel Atom 16GB tablet. We wrote about this exciting kids tablet last year, but now we have picked out an excellent Nabi DreamTab 8-inch tablet review for those that want to get one next week.

The big difference is that last year, the Nabi DreamTab 8 was shipping with an quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. However, you may not realise that there are now two versions of the DreamTab.

The newer version ships with an Intel setup instead, specifically a quad-core Intel Bay Trail Atom Z3745 processor which offers 1.33Ghz speeds.

This is the version which many retailers are offering during the Holiday shopping period and we’ve actually heard from some who say that the Intel Bay Trail version is faster than the Tegra 4 version – which is interesting and perhaps debatable for others.

Regardless of the processor though, this tablet offers some great features elsewhere. An 8-inch HD display, Android 4.4 Kitkat, the Wings kids interface, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of memory, MicroSD support, rear and front cameras and NFC support.

It’s somewhat strange though that Nabi make no mention of the new Intel version on their official product listing here. We do know that this version is now being sold online – Best Buy for example are offering the newer version with a $50 discount right now during Cyber Monday.

Let us know your thoughts on this. Do you also find it slightly confusing that there’s no mention of the Intel Atom version on Nabi’s website? Does this make a difference to you if its a Intel setup rather than Tegra? – We’ve added a video below for you to watch.
