myTouch 4G Slide impressions: T-Mobile G2 similarities

Back at the beginning of the month we had what we presumed were details of a few handsets heading to T-Mobile. One handset has been getting some media attention of late and with a few clear shots now being released we expect myTouch 4G Slide impressions to start coming in. What we do expect consumers to see is the T-Mobile G2 similarities with this latest handset.

We do not know how they did it, but TmoNews has managed to get a few sneaky images of the new myTouch 4G Slide, and you can clearly see that they are not those blurry ones that you would normally get when a phone has been spotted. Having these clear shots gives you a much greater understanding of the handset, such as basic feature design.

We can see on the images on TmoNews that the version of Android was Gingerbread 2.3.4 and like the Sensation will be running a HTC Sense UI. The biggest similarity to the T-Mobile G2 has to be that keyboard, but we are informed that the device weighs a little more than the G2. Some of you might not have a problem with this, as they would much prefer a bit of weight rather than something weak with a fear of breaking it.

You have to remember that the myTouch 4G Slide will come with a host of hardware upgrades, so putting on a few pounds is not big deal. The same cannot be said about the Samsung Galaxy S II, yes we know that it is an awesome handset but there is an issue.

A friend of ours decided that he had enough of his iPhone 4 so sent off for this latest Android handset thinking he was getting a perfect replacement. However, being a big man and always on the go he found the S2 was just too weak. He feared that it was too flimsy and was just not for him; we would like to know if anyone else thinks the same as he does?

We have yet to learn official release date or specs, but we do have a few ideas. One would expect the device to have a Qualcomm 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor, 768MB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera, 3.7-inch WVGA display and also 1080p 3D video. Latest rumors suggest that the myTouch 4G Slide will be released on July 6th, which could be true as the handset has already been spotted on the FCC website.
