MW3 title update 1.08 (Jan 24th), list of changes, buffs and nerfs

It has recently been announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 gamers on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC will soon receive a new title update which we presume brings the game to version 1.08, today we can tell you just what this update changes.

Less than an hour ago Infinity Ward’s community manager, Robert Bowling (aka @fourzerotwo), confirmed that the update has gone live for Xbox 360 and will soon come to PC and PS3. You can see extracts from two tweets below, here we find out just what the update will change.

Updated #MW3 today; you’ll notice improved lag comp, theater fixes, nerf to Striker, buff to all other shotguns, upload to YouTube faster. It will be coming out shortly for PS3 and PC. The PS3 version of the patch had PS3 exclusive updates that delayed it slightly.

As you can see you should notice improvements in regards to lag, less theater mode problems (which we spoke about here) and significantly faster video uploads to YouTube.

Perhaps the biggest thing to take notice of is the changes which have been made to all of the game’s shotguns, prior to the update most people utilized the Striker, but now this has been nerfed (made less effective) and all other shotguns have been buffed (modified to become more affective). This means that we may see more people utilizing the USAS 12, KSG 12, SPAS 12, Model 1887 and AA-12, we’re not sure whether this buff affects shotgun attachments for Assault Rifles.

Now that the upload is live we would love to hear from you if it has hit your console / PC, if so leave us a comment below letting us know if the fixes have worked and whether or not the update has caused any new problems for you. We have also heard that the PS3 version of this update will consist of the same fixes along with some exclusive changes, when we hear more we will keep you posted.

What else needs to be changed?
