MW3 Team Defender multiplayer mode first details

In just over two months time gamers will finally be able to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, if you are not looking forward to repetative multiplayer game modes which have grown stale over time we have some great news for you regarding a completely new game mode.

Recently we told you about a new mode called “Kill Confirmed” which requires you to acquire your enemy’s dogtags once you kill them, today we can confirm that another game mode is coming, this is called “Team Defender” and we think it should promote teamwork and tactical gameplay.

Sadly we don’t have full details regarding this game mode, however Infinity Ward’s Creative Strategist, Robert Bowling, recently tweeted the following:

Team Defender is a new game mode where you grab a flag, run with it, and defend it on the move to score points as a team.

We really like the sound of this game mode, however we want to know a couple more things. Firstly, does a team only score points when the flag holder is moving with the flag? Secondly, do defenders of the flag holder respawn when killed? Or do they have to spectate until the flag holder is killed? We would love to hear what you think about these questions and what you want the answers to be.

While we are talking about game modes we must point out this Tweet, again Robert Bowling has been busy on Twitter, this time confirming that Barebones will be in MW3 – Bowling goes on to say it is his favorite game mode. If you have never played Barebones it basically consists of Team Deathmatch and Free-For-All, however there are no Killstreak rewards, attachments, perks or camouflage – it really does promote accuracy and studying maps.

Do you like the sound of the new Team Defender game mode?
