MW3: Patch 1.06 update coming for Xbox 360, PS3 – First details

We have some good news for Modern Warfare 3 players now, as Infinity Ward has just confirmed that a new patch update is on the way for all platforms of the game. Patch 1.06 on console, or Title update 6 for the PC doesn’t have a release ETA yet, but we do have the first details on what will be included in the update.

Robert Bowling, the community manager for Infinity Ward has posted some very useful information on the official Call of Duty forums. When discussing all the previous patch notes that have been released for the game so far, he also took the opportunity to reveal the first information on what Infinity Ward are planning to fix in the next update for the game, which will be Title Update 6 or patch 1.06.

You’ll be pleased to know that they are planning to take measures to improve lag performance further and also provide a fix for melee jump. Measures to prevent frequent stats loss will also be taken in the next update, while they will be improving host migration as well – often a cause of much frustration you’ll agree.

There’s also a collection of updates that they are currently ‘discussing’, which means that they could appear in the next title update if demand is high enough. These include an update to the spawn system and a default 30 round start timer for games played in the system link mode.

You can read through the full list of changes, plus all the changes made to Modern Warfare 3 in previous patch updates over on the official forum here. How happy are you with the game at the moment? Do you think Infinity Ward has done a good job with the overall balance of multiplayer, or do you think there are specific areas that need looking at? If so, share your thoughts with us below.
