MW3: Elite gameplay for new Liberation, Piazza DLC maps

If you have a Call of Duty Elite subscription for Modern Warfare 3 on the Xbox 360, then you’ll be interested to know that developers Infinity Ward have just released a brand new video detailing some of the 20 pieces of DLC you’ll get as part of your subscription.

More importantly, the video also gives us a solid look at the first two maps that will be coming to Modern Warfare 3 as DLC. We all thought the first map would be titled ‘Park’, after Robert Bowling, community manger tweeted a picture of the map in question, however we can tell you that the first two new maps available for Elite members will be Liberation and Piazza.

Liberation is a map that takes place in New York and features many iconic locations such as Central Park and the Bethesda Fountain as previously indicated in the screenshot. The map seems to be ideal for long-range sniper battles, while those who enjoy close-quarter battles may prefer the second map Piazza which in our opinion bears a lot of resemblance to Favela from Modern Warfare 2.

These maps will be available on January 24th and will also be unlocked for Survival mode. The video also makes MW3 owners aware that it is the first piece of DLC content out of 20, which will be taking place over the space of nine months. Players will also get new spec ops missions in later packs, as well as new game modes and further multiplayer maps.

There’s no release date for this content yet for Xbox 360 owners who don’t have an Elite subscription, as it remains exclusive to Elite only for the time being. If you are a PS3 or PC player with a copy of Modern Warfare 3, then expect to wait up to a month as usual. Check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts on it.

Do you like the look of Liberation and Piazza so far? What else would you like to see on January 24 – a spawn point fix we’re guessing?
