Before you build yourself up for WWDC 2010 keynote tomorrow, we advise you to watch this must see video of Steve Jobs below. The video is from the very first All Things D event in 2003, and some of the things that the Apple CEO said will have you laughing. It is not that he tries to be funny, but what he and the company have backtracked on over the years.
Jesus Diaz from Gizmodo said that one of the little gems that Jobs came up with was about tablet devices saying that they are great for “a bunch of rich guys who want to have a third computer.” See, told you it was funny. However, we cannot laugh at Steve Jobs too much, Apple has proven that it is not afraid to eat humble pie and go back on something they have said — the huge success of the iPad is proof of that.
Back in 2003 all Apple cared about was its personal computer, in seven years they have gone from a stuffy geeky brand to one of the most profitable companies in the world, and this has not happened by chance. You only have to look at the iPod, iPhone and now the iPad to understand what I mean.
I am not saying that Apple are perfect — far from it — but when they come up with a new device they seem to excel. We just hope that they do not disappoint tomorrow, we want to see that new iPhone, which we now believe will be called the iPhone HD.
