Motorola Xoom 3G finally tastes Android Honeycomb

For tablet owners that defied the temptation of purchasing the ever so popular Apple iPad and opted for an Android alternative, the Motorola Xoom, you will be pleased to know that your device will finally be getting a taste of Android 3.2 Honeycomb, the latest version of Google’s tablet operating system.

The upgrade was initially released for the tablet last month, making it one of the first tablets to receive this updated software, but only for the Wi-Fi version. Now the upgrade will be rolling out to the 3G models as well, giving the Android tablet owners some exciting and reassuring news about the company they have opted for. The report from suggests that the reason the update was not released for the 3G version in the first place is because they may have found problems.

Some of the main improvements featuring in the update are better compatibility, user-interface improvements, the addition of MOTOprint, the full version of QuickOffice and improved docking support. Support for additional languages has also been included these are Romanian, Hungarian and Croatian. New keyboard layouts have also been added to cater for these additional languages. In a previous article we brought you news of an Ice Cream Sandwich update was revealed to be rolling out to the Motorola Xoom soon too. Of course an official release date for the upgrade is yet to be announced so in the meantime these tablet owners will just have to remain patient and be happy with the Honeycomb update they are finally receiving.
