If you have decided that the Motorola Droid 4 is your next smartphone and you’re planning to pick one up at launch this week, it’s a good idea to read or in this case watch as much intel as possible so you’re up to speed on the capabilities that the Droid 4 has to offer.
Motorola has just unleashed a barrage of videos giving consumers the perfect opportunity for a detailed insight into the Droid 4 before the handset launches over the weekend. A range of aspects are covered in the tutorial style videos, such as the design of the device which takes a look at that slick 5-row backlit QWERTY slider, to the Smart Actions app from Motorola which allows you to customize your device in order to suit your daily lifestyle, but more importantly disable apps that you don’t need and free up that precious battery life.
If camera quality is important to you, then you’ll want to check out the video below which specifically takes a look at the 8 megapixel camera and a handy little addition to video recording which reduces hand shaking when capturing video. There’s also a demonstration on how to share videos instantly once you’ve taken a clip, including the ability to send 1080p videos directly to YouTube – a feature that will probably be very welcome with new owners.
Moving on, there are also videos which show how the Motorola Droid can be hooked up to the Lapdock 500 accessory for situations when you want to transfer any data from phone to laptop, or edit documents and other media on a big screen. There’s even support for taking calls as well when it is hooked up to the laptop which is particularly impressive.
As with older Droid devices, no accessory is probably more important than the official car dock, and one final video that we have to show you gives you an example of the functionality and interface you can expect to see when you hook your Droid 4 to your motor. What we like about this, is the car dock gives you a slick new interface which is tailored just for in-car purposes. Aside from the navigation features, there is voice-operated calling, and the music feature even allows you to use your data to access internet radio stations.
