Motorola Q2 1010 Results: 168 Million Profit

Motorola has today revealed their Q2 010 results, and it looks like adopting the Android last year was a great decision as they have again made a profit.

During the 90 days of Q2 2010 Motorola sold 8.3 millions phone, 2.7 million of these were smartphones, this means that Motorola sold roughly 30,000 smartphones per day, I would dhazard a guess to say that a lot of these were Android-based smartphones such as the Motorola Droid, CLIQ and the Backflip.

In Q2 Motorola saw sales of $5.4 billion and profit of $162 million, this time last year Motorola reported Q2 profits of just $26 million, which shows just how good this year has been for Motorola.

With the recent release of the Motorola Droid X, and the upcoming release of the Droid 2, I would be very surprised if Motorola’s Q3 results aren’t equally impressive, if not better.
