Motorola Droid X Screen Problems: Update from Verizon

Following on from our article yesterday, which informed you about display screen problems for the recently released Motorola Droid X on Verizon, we now have a statement from Verizon for you to read.

As reported from Engadget, both Motorola and Verizon have acknowleged the problem and have some important information for those affected. According to Verizon’s statement, Motorola has fixed up the issue, so there is no reason for any shipping delays as a result of this.

Here is part of their statement: “Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display.”

For those who are still witnessing a defective screen issue, you are advised to visit a Motorola or Verizon customer support center. Let us know your thoughts on this.

Cannot hear people at all, to fix take battery out and then turn back on ..Sending pic via email or text must resend two or three. Times to go thru

Had my Droid X for 24 HOURS and the screen froze taking it back tomorrow

I have had Droid X for three weeks…the screen froze multiple times, on recent calls no record for calls incoming or going for a week. Tech support had me reboot/restart system in clearing all data; formerly I had been removing my battery as directed by Verizon.Another problem unable to link up to Verizon mail, unable to link up to Blue tooth, supposedly a new phone is enroute – I did not want a reconditioned phone that they were going to send out – they denied anyone else calling with problems….said I was the only one (8-20-2010)!

Just got a new Droid on 8/12 and by 8/15 we had to send it back due to screen issues. The bottom half of the screen would flicker and then go completely black.. Should be receiving the new one today. We'll see how it goes.

Thoughts! Does this mean we will not be able to exchange the phone.
