Almost one-month ago Alan Ng wrote a post detailing how to root the Motorola Droid X; we can now tell you that we now have a guide to root the Droid 2. However, we have to warn you that you do so at your own risk, as well as the fact that Motorola will look to patch this.
For those who are interested you can head over to xda-developers to Root the latest Android handset, but there are a few things that you need to do in order for it to work. The first step requires you to tether the smartphone to a PC, and then you have to transfer some binaries.
The process is not as difficult as it first sounds, and some of you will believe that it is worth it in order to get “surcharge-free tethering.”
Having just looked at the complete process it might be too much for some of you — if you have any doubts then do not tamper with your Droid 2. xda-developers points out that the process could be streamlined, if you know how then make it known to our readers.
