Motorola Droid 2: R2D2 Edition Comes with 1.25Ghz Processor?

We have some good news for those of you planning to pick up the special ‘R2D2’ Edition of the Motorola Droid 2, as we have heard reports that it is going to be upgraded to a 1.25Ghz processor!

As reported from PocketNow, the news is according to this article over at BGR. Apparently, the R2D2 Droid 2 will be equipped with a 1.25Ghz OMAP processor, similar to the Motorola Droid 2 ‘World Edition’ which is expected to be unveiled shortly.

If the news is confirmed, then it is obviously a major incentive to pick one up, considering that the original Droid 2 ‘only’ comes with a 1Ghz processor – which is already considered to be a quick handset.

If you didn’t already know, the handset will be available on September 30th. Full details can be seen at the official product page here.
