Motorola Droid 2: Firmware Update v2.2.20.en.US – Download Now

We have some good news for those of you with a Motorola Droid 2 handset on Verizon, as we can confirm that the first firmware update is now available to download OTA in the US – although it is only considered to be a minor affair.

As reported from Phandroid, users can now update their Droid 2 to firmware version 2.2.20.en.US, either by waiting for the OTA notification from Verizon, or heading to the settings menu on your device to install it manually.

Changes include picture messaging scrolling and enabled text, improved contact sync when using corporate exchange services, improved contact pictures when in the recent call log menu and enhancements to Visual Voice Mail features.

The file size is only 3.7MB, so this shouldn’t take long to download and install at all. Let us know if you have received the notification, or if you are still waiting. The update should be available right now.
