Motorola Droid 2: Android 2.2 Froyo – New Pictures Confirm

Just in case you were still wondering if the upcoming Motorola Droid 2 would ship with Android 2.2 Froyo upon release, we have some more details for you now, which suggest that Google’s latest OS is all but confirmed.

As reported from Phandroid, some new images have popped up courtesy of the AndroidForums, which appear to have been taken from a Verizon database inventory.

There are no pictures of the device, but you can clearly see that ‘2.2’ is listed under the OS Version type. The new images also confirm a few minor features which will be coming on the Droid 2, such as the various types of mobile messaging – see for yourself on the pictures.

If recent rumors are to believed, then the Droid 2 will be landing on Verizon sooner than most of us expected. It almost seems too soon after the release of the Droid X – what do you think?
