Motorola Atrix 4G: New AT&T Release Date via Twitter

You may remember us telling you about a confirmed release date for the Motorola Atrix 4G on AT&T, but you may want to alter your diaries, as a new release date has been set for the smartphone – and it’s good news.

AT&T has just confirmed via Twitter, that the dual-core equipped smartphone will actually be launching earlier than schedule. Instead of launching on March 6th, we can tell you that you’ll be able to pick up the Atrix 4G as early as February 22nd.

This new date applies to both pre-order customers and those of you who are wanting to pick it up from AT&T direct. Pre-orders will start shipping on February 21st, while store sales will start on February 22nd – everyone’s happy.

Here’s the Tweet that confirms everything:

”We’ll beat our target timing. ATRIX 4G in-store sales begin 2/22. Existing pre-orders will be shipped for delivery on 2/21.”

So with that good news out of the way, we’re going to switch our attention to something else which may interest you. If you were expecting to pick up the handset from AT&T direct for $199 on contract, you’ll definitely want to head to Radioshack first as they will be offering the 4G smartphone for $149 – undercutting AT&T in the process. Head to this report from Engadget for more details.

Are you going to pick up the Motorola Atrix 4G or do you have your eye on a different smartphone?
