We have some shocking news to bring you now, as it has been reported that a 33-year old woman neglected her three children for a few months after becoming addicted to an online board game.
As reported from the Telegraph, the woman’s dangerous obsession also took it’s toll on the family pet’s as two dogs died as a result of starvation, with the bodies left in the house for a further two months.
The game in question was Small World, an online board game which was recommended to her by a friend on Facebook. The game resulted in her three children having to eat cold baked beans out of a tin, as there were no clean spoons in the house according to the prosecutor.
Here is a quote from the woman, which she said to police as she tried to stop them from entering her dining room:
“All right, my dogs are in there. They are dead. I killed them. I probably starved them, probably because I have been playing the computer game all the time.”
You’ll be pleased to know that the lady was given six months imprisonment suspended for two years and banned from keeping animals. There is no information on what happened to the three children though. Perhaps her sentence should of been longer?
