Mortal Kombat’s Ed Boon on Move, Kinect and 3D

We have a treat for Mortal Kombat fans now, as we have a video interview with creator Ed Boon to share with you now, in which he discusses his thoughts on implementing Move and Kinect into fighting games, as well as current progress on the PS3 3D version of the game.

The video interview comes to us courtesy of Eurogamer TV, as their man Johnny Minkley was on hand at this year’s E3 event in Los Angeles to quiz Boon on the new game in detail as well as some other interesting topics.

Firstly, he confirms that Mortal Kombat 3D has already been in development for a number of months, and concedes that the 3D video shown so far is ‘really impressive’. He adds that the team are working closely on the layers which comprise stereoscopic 3D visuals and that the finished product will result in a much more immersive experience for gamers.

Interestingly, Boon was also asked for his opinions on the upcoming motion hardware by Sony and Microsoft. He believes that both technologies are interesting and may be a possible option in the future, but confirms that Mortal Kombat will focus entirely on controller input for the time being.

Check out the full video interview at Eurogamer here and let us know your thoughts on this. Are you expecting big things from the 3D version of MK 2011?
